New Hyde Park Halloween festival returns Oct. 31 with pie-eating contests, pumpkin decorating and more — Massapequa Arts news

Families looking for a festive way to celebrate Halloween will have plenty of activities to choose from when the Village of New Hyde Park hosts its annual Halloween Fall Festival on Oct. 31. The event will begin at noon at Memorial Park and will mark the sixth year of the village’s Halloween celebration. The afternoon will feature costume contests for different age groups, with gift sets planned for first-, second- and third-place winners. Children will also be able to participate in games and win prizes, as well as decorate small pumpkins donated by Milena Garden Center. The pumpkins will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Several rounds of pie-eating contests are also planned, adding a messy and competitive element to the festivities.
